A friend of mine tried to get me to read this book, but I resisted because of the title ... why do I need to read a book on winning friends?? I am so glad I finally did though - it is a true classic, and while none of the ideas in it are rocket science, Carnegie assembles his thoughts in a logical sequence, giving concrete examples and making it real. I can't recommend it enough to people who either need to lead a team (professionally or otherwise), or who simply want to be smoother in the human relations game. I've read it once, and I'm sure I'll read it another dozen times throughout my life.
